Just to mention a few.  In the October, 1988 issue of Colonial Homes magazine, which featured several pages on the historicity of Madison,  Margie’s Country Store is pictured with the caption,

“Shopping, Where to find the most interesting Midwestern treasures.“

     Not to be outdone, the magazine, Midwest Living, roared into town in the wake of Colonial Homes’ visit, and the December, 1988 issue featured the city of Madison and is historic charm, and this time, a photo of the store frontal made it into the article. 

     For some months during 2004, the webpage frontal for the Madison Chamber of Commerce website actually featured the same front of our store as you see here on our own website.

     Margie was truly humbled and dumbstruck when she returned from a vacation back in 2002. She was simply asked to come on down to City Hall one afternoon, and to her total surprise, was honored, chosen as the first ever inaugural  recipient of the Madison Hospitality Award,  bestowed upon her  for excellence in representing the City of Madison to Tourists and Visitors.  She was much moved by this recognition for what takes place in her store every day!!!
