Margie says, “ I have insisted on featuring my staff
ladies on this website, for they are the very core
and essence of our long success. Every one has been with me loyally
for years and years, which I think in this day and time speaks volumes
about their caring, their character, and the ongoing spirit of
help and assistance with our customers. There is a deep
friendship here which abides over time.

Sandy has been an integral part of all shop
operations now for 16 years. She first came as a customer, a sewer,
and has grown into not only Margie’s helper with all fabrics and notions
upstairs, but has been THE sewing and project instructor now for several
years. Sandy has co-authored several books and patterns with Margie, and
greatly assists Margie at all international quilt markets. To say
Sandy is delighted to have the little white cottage next door devoted solely
to her as The Sewing Center would be quite the understatement!!

Annie has been with the store almost from its
beginnings. Until 2002, she managed all store business matters.
Then, after her three daughters talked her into retirement, Annie was
gone for about 7 months, and then said, “To heck with this, I miss the store and
the people and the spirit of the shop”, and has returned to
us part-time, much to everyone’s delight!!

Barbara or “Barb”, as we know her, has also been
with the shop for so many years. Margie remembers, “When Barb
first came with me, she had these two cute little daughters, Missy and
Tracy. Later, each worked here part-time through the years, and today, each
has two children, making Barb a proud grandmother of four little ones.
Barbara has for many years been responsible for overall gift and
accessory display and presentation, a tiring and ongoing task in which she excels!
A professional gentleman came into the shop for the first time in 2004,
and came up out of the cellar, inquiring as to what firm Margie hired to do
displays, and all pointed proudly to Barb.

Lorene has recently returned here into Margie’s
Country Store as a sales associate, having served for 13
years next door as the day-to-day overseer of Margie’s Too, another
entire store operation which closed on January 1, 2004. Margie says, “ Lorene is so
reliable, so loyal, and we are all delighted upon her “return”
into our midst. She knows the drill here, and fit right back in with
seamless effectiveness.”

There
are two additional part-time ladies who, again, have been with the store
operations for years. Melanie has been
pitching in part-time for at least 12 years, and Gwen or “Kay” has come over into the main
store with the closure of Margie’s Too, where she worked before.
